PTE SCHOOL · FIXED DAILY PRACTICE
PTE Academic study routine
Know what to learn, how many questions to practise and what to improve—one day at a time.
Learn. Practise. Review.
Start with relevant image content and contextual reading, not memorised answers.
Session 1 · Speaking · Describe Image
70 minSpend 15 minutes reviewing your target and Skills Profile; use the remaining 15 to replay two recordings.
Describe Image × 10
New attempts · 40 min- Do:
- Identify the subject, select key details and describe relationships.
- Avoid:
- Inventing data or reciting unrelated memorised sentences.
- Check:
- Check that each stated detail is supported by the image.
Session 2 · Reading · Context and grammar
70 minLearn the task first. Spend the final 20 minutes explaining and correcting your choices.
Fill in the Blanks (Drop Down) × 5
New attempts · 25 min- Do:
- Read the passage, then use grammar, meaning and collocation to choose.
- Avoid:
- Choosing by familiarity without checking the full sentence.
- Check:
- Explain why each choice fits and alternatives do not.
Fill in the Blanks (Drag & Drop) × 5
New attempts · 25 min- Do:
- Identify the required word form, then check sentence meaning.
- Avoid:
- Ignoring distractors or nearby grammatical clues.
- Check:
- Read the completed passage aloud to check fit.
The table is free to read. Question answers, restricted lessons and mocks keep their existing sign-in, approval and payment requirements. Full mocks need an uninterrupted session; the second session is a short review.
Why this order matters
Learn before adding speed. The first days cover all 22 task types. Later days revisit content, grammar, comprehension and accurate delivery before timed checkpoints.
Priority is coaching advice, not a weight chart. Describe Image deserves focused practice when content or delivery is weak. Pearson’s reviewed official sources do not establish a universal percentage or that it is always the largest Speaking contributor. Integrated tasks may assess more than one skill; read each task’s current scoring criteria.
Review before another mock. Compare mistakes with the task criteria. Keep evidence: a recording, a sentence correction or the reason for a wrong option. Do not interpret a self-check or PTE School mock estimate as an official Pearson score.
